Our Intermediate & Senior school caters for dancers from 7yrs to Pre-Professional and offers a wide variety of styles in all age groups. All age groups also have specialised exam and eisteddfod classes available. Class packages are from 1 class per week to 11 classes per week depending on the level of commitment, and can be tailored to each student.

Ballet is the backbone of all forms of dance and provides the basic technique required for any type of dance. At JAM we encourage all students to take ballet classes. Ballet teaches good posture and placement in dance. It is elegant and graceful and considered to produce some of the best athletes in the world! We offer 2 open classes per week in each age group ranging in ability and covering technique from both RAD and CSTD syllabus. We also offer CSTD examination classes. For the older students to continue focused development we have separate pointe and demi pointe classes as an extension of their ballet class.
These classes have technical Jazz elements and Funk/Street Jazz elements designed to develop flexibility and strength paired with co-ordination and style. As the students advance these classes are separated into different classes – Jazz class and Kicks & Turns class. Students are encouraged to attend all jazz classes. Examinations are available in the CSTD Jazz syllabus.
Our tap classes provide a wide range of tap styles and speeds to ensure students become well rounded tappers. Tap dance enhances musicality, rhythm and co-ordination. At JAM we teach CSTD Tap syllabus and offer exams for all levels for this syllabus.
Stretch & Conditioning
This class is for the most committed dancer. It is designed to enhance and refine technique and body alignment and placement through a variety of exercises and stretches similar to pilates using fitball and stretch bands. The class follows the Progressing Ballet Technique program developed by RAD examiner Marie Walton-Mahon.
Lyrical & Contemporary
These forms of dance are interpretive, free flowing styles that encompass ballet technique. It is an increasingly popular style and provides great core stability and control.
Hip Hop is our most popular class of the week! It is a great starting point for those wanting to get into dance but not sure where to start! It requires a combination of strength and flexibility and is a great style to incorporate into any dancers repertoire to enhance their all around versatility and style.
This is a combination singing and acting class where students learn songs and scripts from musicals and popular music. It provides an environment where students feel safe to come out of their shells, play and imagine in a safe, encouraging environment.
All of our acrobatics classes are taught by qualified experienced coaches with safety mats. Students are taught a variety of gymnastic and circus skills all set at an individual pace. Each class comprises of strength and stretching, acrobatic skills and balancing. We also have a separate tumbling class for the advanced student!
