Performance Opportunities & Examinations
Examinations and Eisteddfods are an extension of the standard dance week. These classes give our more committed dancers the opportunity to put all their classroom work into practice!
We offer CSTD exams in Ballet, Jazz & Tap from Tiny Tots (4yrs) to Diploma level. All exam classes are run separately and in addition to our open classes, so the students have focused personalised learning. Exams provide a structured training system that develops technical skills in an age appropriate manner and are a great way to give the students specific goals to achieve.
At JAM we offer both solo & group competition opportunities. Our Eisteddfod teams are not audition based so all students that share the passion of being on stage and dedication to their craft are able to join! These rehearsal classes are run separately to our open classes. Our competition season runs from January to July. Eisteddfods are a great way of gaining self-confidence, discipline and most of all they are LOTS OF FUN!
We have an annual concert that all students from every class from Kindy age upwards can be a part of. We have 3 shows in November each year at the Redcliffe Cultural Centre. Tickets are available for purchase for anyone that wants to come along. Details on the current years production are available from reception.
Our littlest performers don’t miss out either! While the big stage can be a daunting thing we have an in house concert for our Creative Movement & Move & Dance classes as a part of their Christmas party and we invite along all of their parents, grandparents, siblings & friends to see what they have learnt for the year!
At JAM we have the opportunity to offer our Intermediate & Senior program students the opportunity to attend workshops, classes and performances both interstate and internationally. We have been on several tours to the USA attending classes and workshops in New York, LA & Las Vegas and performing at Disneyland & Universal Studios. As well as attending summer schools and weekend workshops around the country at various times during the year.
We also have an annual trip to the Australian Dance Festival in Sydney where the students take part in master classes and audition classes with some of Australia’s leading choreographers.
