Performance Opportunities & Examinations
Examinations, Eisteddfods and Performances are an extension of the standard dance week. These classes give our more committed dancers the opportunity to put all their classroom work into practice!
We offer CSTD exams in Ballet, Jazz & Tap from Primary (5yrs) to Diploma level. All exam classes are run separately and in addition to our open classes, so the students have focused personalised learning. Exams provide a structured training system that develops technical skills in an age appropriate manner and are a great way to give the students specific goals to achieve.
At JAM we offer both solo & group competition opportunities. Our Eisteddfod teams are not audition based so all students that share the passion of being on stage and dedication to their craft are able to join! These rehearsal classes are run separately to our open classes. Our competition season runs from January to July. Eisteddfods are a great way of gaining self-confidence, discipline and most of all they are LOTS OF FUN!
We have an annual concert that all students in the studio are invited to be a part of. It is our BIG event of the year and something that all classes work towards to showcase the students learning for the year. We have a separate Junior school show and then an Intermediate & Senior school show. Both shows are in November and are something not to be missed! The shows are held at Redcliffe Cultural Centre and tickets can be purchased from their website.
At JAM we have the opportunity to offer students the ability to perform and attend workshops both interstate and internationally, as well as privately audition for local performance companies, master class workshops and elite training programs. These opportunities are arranged and are by invitation only and specifically aimed at those students that are showing interest in professional careers in dance.
As well as dance, at JAM we are often approached to provide professional entertainment, model and acting work for local promotional and seasonal events. You may even recognise some of our students popping up in local newspapers, magazines and TV commercials!
